A temporary visitor visa to Japan is for purposes such as a short-term business visit, visiting relatives/acquaintances or tourism. The visa is issued for 90 days.

✅ THE PURPOSE OF YOUR TRIP CAN BE:

Visa application for “short-term business cases, etc.” means a visa application for the following purposes:

1. Exchange programs on cultural, municipal, sports and other projects.

2. Business connection, participation in meetings, business consultations, contract signing, after-sales service, advertising, market research, etc.

Visa application “to visit relatives/acquaintances” means a visa application for visiting relatives (in particular, spouse, blood relatives and relatives according to the third degree) and acquaintances (including friends) for the purpose of tourism.

❌  VISITORS VISA IS NOT ALLOWED FOR:

In case of having the above-mentioned visa, it is not allowed to carry out income-generating business operations or activities for receiving remuneration.

An appointment for a Japanese tourist visa interview is made by contacting the consulate by phone. Before scheduling an interview, you should collect documents according to the purpose of your trip, fill in the application and travel plan. A passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure and has two blank pages. (This is a general recommendation)

Japan does not have any regulations on passport validity, so if your passport is valid before you leave Japan you can travel.

Copy of visas, entry and exit stamps in current passport. It is not necessary to make a copy of blank free sheets.

Copy of identity card, ID card

Documentation proving that you have the necessary financial ability to travel.

Notice from the service Where it is indicated, your position, the date of the start of work (number, month and year), how much your salary is and it is credited to your bank account. The notice must be in English, printed on the company’s official letterhead (if any), certified by signature and seal.

🧐 TIPS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

• Documents must be valid at the time of application and must be submitted no later than three months from the date of issue.
• Any documents submitted at the time of receiving the application will not be returned to the applicant, except for his/her passport.
• The visa application processing period is approximately one week, although it may vary depending on the details of the application.
• The applicant may be required to submit additional documents. If necessary, the documents can be forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo for further verification.
• Be honest and accurate in your application and avoid providing false information.
• The visa is valid for three months. It is not possible to extend the validity period.
• Apply for a visa so that your travel period coincides with the active period of the visa. A visa is not requested from a specific date in advance.
• The Japanese consulate does not have a visa fee.
