Procedure for Obtaining a Criminal Record Certificate
To obtain this document, individuals can apply to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the document (police certificate/criminal history) in person, by submitting a written request at the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Analytical Department, located at 10 Gia Gulua St. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00-18:00; no prior appointment or scheduling is required. The written request must include the person's full legal last name, any other names used, date of birth, place of birth, Georgian ID card number, mailing address, and signature. It must also state that the individual is requesting a certificate covering their entire lifetime criminal history (if any), for the purpose of applying for a US visa.
If you want to receive the certificate for yourself, bring your identification document when submitting the application. If you're preparing this certificate for a third party, bring: your identification document, a power of attorney from that person, and that person's identification document.
The Analytical Department will send the response by mail (not email) within 10 business days directly to the requester, who must then submit it to the US embassy for review. Alternatively, if you indicate in your request that you'd prefer to pick it up in person, the documents will be ready for pickup in Tbilisi, at the office located at 10 Gia Gulua St., within 10 business days.
